If you are not familiar with twitter, you won’t “get it” when  you first look at it. You won’t understand it and it will seem strange. You will wonder, what’s the point?

Twitter is a social media site and it’s a great way to combine both socializing and marketing. Some use it solely for socializing while others use it solely for marketing.

I have found it’s best when you use it both for socializing and marketing

You will need to “follow” people and you’ll need people to “follow” you. Most people will follow you back if you follow them. Unless you have no avatar and no “tweets”.

You can look up people you already know, from the internet or real life. You can use the search function to find people to follow.

You can say “hey, what’s up?” to friends, say something about your day or what you’re doing or post links to your websites and blogs. When you make a new post on the blog, you can tweet, “Hey, I just updated my blog, check it out-(post your link)”

You also have to tweet in 120 characters or less. Sometimes this can be hard. You can’t really say a lot in 120 characters or less.

Be sure to upload an avatar. Preferably your real picture, but if not, at least upload a logo or something because people don’t like to follow people with no avatar.

The first few times, it will seem kind of weird, but after a while you’ll get used to it.

For internet marketers and aspiring internet marketers, the best website out there is The Warrior Forum.

You can find tons of valuable free information and there is a special section called WSOs which stands for Warrior Special Offers. These must be offers that are available only to Warrior Forum members or at a much better price than the general online public. I have bought some WSO’s myself and some of them are awesome.

You can also make friends with other internet marketers and in the Off Topic section (the basement) you can talk about pretty much whatever you want and there are some weird but fun conversations down there.

Why? Because it’s completely free to use and even a beginner can do it.

You can add adsense to your blog to try to make money or you can try to sell your own stuff or add affiliate products.

Or you can just share your opinions, thoughts, and ideas with the rest of the world.

Blogger is owned by Google. As long as you follow their rules, you’ll be fine. It’s a great way to start and it can be fun.

My advice is to find something you love and start doing it.  You can make money with what you are passionate about.

I love what I do, and I am working towards having my husband quit his job so that he can work at home with me.

I spend about 10 or 15 hours per week working on writing for clients, and another 10 or 15 a week working on my own projects.  (It varies, depending on family stuff.)

There are pros and cons to working for yourself. Some people would absolutely thrive and be happy and wealthy working for themselves. Others would just waste time and get nothing accomplished and get low self esteem. They need a boss or they just need the stability of an hourly wage.

Pros

• Freedom and Independence
• There is no income cap like a regular job. You can make a ton of money and still make more. Nobody is going to say “you’ve reached your limit”
• You work when you are able or you want to. If working from midnight to 3am is good for you one day and working 10-6 is good another day, that’s fine. You can have an erratic schedule. You can work around your kids needs. You can put in work before they wake up or after they are asleep.
• You are in control. You are in the drivers seat.
• There is no punch in or punch out or a boss forcing you to take an extra long break with no pay or work late because it’s really busy.
• It can be fun and rewarding and interesting.
• You can take off a day for an emergency or any reason or no reason without having to explain it to your boss or fake an excuse or get a doctors note or prove that you were at a funeral.

Cons

• You have to be motivated or it won’t work
• You can get lazy easily and get nothing accomplished
• You can end up going to the computer to work but just end up wasting time on forums or playing games or whatever
• Some people need them to tell them what to do in order to get work accomplished
• There is no stability of a regular paycheck. It can fluctuate dramatically.
• There is risk involved. You may lose money. You may start off slow. This is not for people who hate risk.

So now you know the pros and cons you can decide better if internet marketing is something you want to do.

Youtube videos!

This is a way to bring massive traffic to your website. Especially if your video is really good.

Don’t know how to make a video and upload it and all that technical stuff? Then outsource! You can hire someone to do it. How much that costs depends on who you get to create your video, the length of the video, and what kind of video it is.

Be sure to have some good music in your video. Your video doesn’t have to have a person in it, it can just be words and pictures with music in the background.

If you are promoting your website, your video can list the benefits of your websites, have some pictures of your website, talk about what your website offers and why they should visit your website. Have some upbeat music in the background. Put it on youtube.com and you’ll get a ton of traffic.

There are so many affiliate products out there to choose from. It’s really hard to decide which ones to promote. There are digital products and physical products. There are products that offer a very small percentage to a very large percentage. Pick the wrong product and you can be wasting  your efforts trying to sell something nobody wants to buy.

If you have chosen a niche and are looking for affiliate product ideas, look around before you choose. Don’t pick the first item you come across. Look at clickbank.com, paydotcom.com, and cj.com for ideas. Also use google and type in your niche + affiliate products and see what comes up.

Now, narrow it down to your favorites and ask yourself these questions to choose the best one.

1- Do they give you any tools such as banners to put up?

2- How many days do their cookies last? (For instance if a customer goes to your link one day but doens’t buy until 3 weeks later, will you still get credit?)

Now, this is important 3- Is this something YOU would buy or do you think people interested in the niche you chose would buy it?

4- What does someone get from the product? Why would they want to buy it?

By answering these questions, you can find some good affiliate produts to promote.

A niche can be anything. Out of the thousands and thousands of niches you can choose, how can you know which ones will be profitable?

Well, most times you just have to try it to find out. If someone has found themselves a highly profitable niche, they’re not going to tell you. They will keep quiet about it and just make money quietly. If they told everyone, then they’d have tons more competition to deal with. I have heard many profitable niches are in fact very obscure and one you may not think of easily.

There are some niches that are well known for being profitable, but the competition is so fierce it’s extremely difficult for a newcomer to have any luck in the niche. The newcomer will find themselves dealing with very deep pockets.

When getting into a niche, it’s good to stay away from the ones with too much competition.

To see if people are spending money in a niche, google it and see how many adwords ads there are. If the right side of the screen is full of ads, then advertisers are definitely spending money to reach people.

To know if YOU will make money in a particular niche, no one can tell you for sure, so you just have to try it. Set up a good webpage or a blog. Promote a product. Do some advertising and some article marketing. And see if you are getting sales, and if so what’s your conversion rate. If you find yourself in a highly profitable niche, you probably won’t be telling many people.
